Twitter: My thoughts

Hi everyone,

People have been asking me what I think about Twitter and why I offer the Twitter widget on the ipboast site.  Well, I have been messing around with Twitter and tweeting here and there trying to figure out a purpose for Twitter the last month and a half.  I think I finally figured it out.  Twitter will ultimately become a "real-time" search engine.  Since all the contents of Twitter are user generated, these tweets are real time inputs by the users of what is going on wherever they are.  For example, if there were an earthquake anywhere around the globe, and let's hope not, a Twitter user in the affected area would then tweet about the earthquake, since it is in real time, meanwhile, the fellow Twitter users would know faster than any News Service or any other Search Engine could report on the quake.  In addition, it is kind of interesting, I have been tweeting things of small importance to everyone else but are actually of huge importance to me.  The tweets are posted with a time stamp and will be a reminder, within the actual minutes of that special hour, day, month and year, of small things that made a part of my morning, afternoon, evening or day special and in real time.  Many years from now I will be able to go back and read back on these special memories.

I hope you all find another personal use for Twitter.

Update 4-6-09

Ok, I am currently scheduled to have a lot of work done on the site and am just awaiting the project management schedule, which should take the course of about 3 weeks.  Well, the vision is to start a community, unlike any other on the web, an incredibly diverse community that ranges so many industries who are all trying to help each other out.  Although I hope the sites uses become for profit for all members and groups, unlike the other sites, which simply want you all to post your creations up and see who bites on your creation, which is like throwing a hail mary, I see that on many other sites that no one bites because the products are "un-sexy".  This will be the difference of ipboast, because of the diversity of the community, not just limited to patent owners and attorneys, engineers, I am opening the site to artists, designers, musicians, writers, photographers, film-makers... of all levels and backgrounds, since they too are intellectual property owners.

Why do I say this site will be different?  When a site is limited to just patent owners or attorneys or how all the of the other sites are set, there will be very limited input on the design, the aesthetics, the ergonomics, the possible uses...  However, with the diverse background of the intellectual property universe, with that same product, maybe it just needs to be made sexier via the artist's design work, the wording of your creation's advertisement simply needs the help from writers or the photographic work is not vivid enough.  Furthermore, with the Kaltura Video, playaround with your webcam and create a commercial or simply ask the help of those in the community whose specialty is film.  Look at the the cell phone and the computer in this simple matter and maybe it will explain things better.  The cell phone and computer was pretty much un-sexy till Steve Jobs at Apple played with the looks, the design and made them sexy!  And do I need to say anything about the Ipod?  Maybe with this diverse community, we will be able to re-look at your creations and make it into a better marketable product, simply more marketable and sexy or a more appealing product for the masses, sometimes everything just needs another set of eyes.

Now, that would be a true community!
